I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a BA and MEng in Information and Computer Engineering. My studies included probability, statistical signal analysis, machine learning, data analysis, computer vision, and software engineering. After Cambridge, I spent more than six years as a software engineer at Microsoft, where I regularly applied mathematics, statistics, data analysis, and quantitative reasoning to complex technical problems.
I also have previous experience teaching and mentoring children and teenagers. During the summers of 2014 and 2015, I privately tutored students ages 10–17, adapting my explanations and lessons to students with different ages, abilities, and goals. I also helped students and their families plan applications to schools and universities abroad. In 2015, I taught English at a summer program for students ages 12–17, where I planned lessons and used interactive activities to make learning engaging and accessible.
While my previous tutoring focused primarily on English and international education rather than STEM, I now hope to combine that teaching experience with my academic and professional background in engineering. My approach is to understand where a student is getting stuck, explain the underlying concept intuitively, and then work through problems step by step until the student can reason through them independently. I particularly enjoy working with students who are curious about mathematics, computing, engineering, and how these subjects connect to real-world problems.
