Hi, I'm Vishal. I earned my bachelor's degree in neuroscience from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), where I maintained a 3.97 GPA, and I scored a 517 on the MCAT, placing in the 95th percentile nationally. Hi, I'm Vishal. I earned my bachelor's degree in neuroscience from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!), where I maintained a 3.97 GPA, and I scored a 517 on the MCAT, placing in the 95th percentile nationally. I currently work as a research assistant in neurogenic obesity at UMiami Medical School, so I spend my days immersed in the same sciences I tutor. I've walked the exact pre-med path and taken the standardized tests my students are facing now, which means I understand not just the material but the pacing and pressure that come with it.

I've been tutoring for 5 years, working one-on-one with pre-med undergraduates and high school students across general and organic chemistry, biology, biochemistry, and physics, as well as ACT and MCAT preparation. In that time, I've helped students raise their ACT scores and guided pre-meds toward competitive MCAT results. My approach is always diagnostic first. I find where a student's understanding breaks down, then rebuild the concept from the ground up using analogies, worked examples, and active recall rather than passive review. Some students need content mastery, others need test strategy and timing, so I adapt each session to the person in front of me and keep the tone structured but relaxed so they stay engaged.

Whether you're a high schooler tackling ACT science, a pre-med student fighting through organic chemistry, or someone preparing for the MCAT, my goal is to make dense material feel manageable and to build the confidence that comes from truly understanding it. I offer flexible evening and weekend availability and tailor every session to your goals. Reach out and let me know what you're working toward — I'd love to help you get there.

Approved Subjects

ACT English

ACT English

I scored a 34 on the ACT and bring years of college-level writing, including a business writing course and constant academic and research writing, so the grammar rules and rhetorical skills this section tests are ones I use and teach fluently. The ACT English section is really a set of repeating patterns, so I show students how to recognize punctuation, sentence-structure, and conciseness questions quickly and answer them with confidence instead of second-guessing. Over five years of tutoring, I've learned to find the specific rules a student keeps missing and drill those rather than reviewing everything at once. Whether you're aiming to break 30 or push for a top score, I tailor each session to your target and the question types that slow you down.
ACT Math

ACT Math

I scored a 34 on the ACT and have a strong quantitative background, with college coursework through Calculus 1 and 2 on top of a science degree, so I'm comfortable across every topic the Math section covers, from algebra and geometry to trigonometry and coordinate math. The ACT rewards speed and accuracy, so I teach students to recognize question types on sight, use efficient setups instead of long derivations, and avoid the careless mistakes that quietly cost the most points. Over five years of tutoring, I've gotten good at pinpointing exactly where a student's approach slows down and fixing that specific bottleneck. Whether you're building fundamentals or pushing for a top score, I tailor each session to your current level and the problems you find hardest.
ACT Science

ACT Science

I scored a 34 on the ACT and hold a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, so the graph-reading, experimental-design, and data-interpretation skills the Science section tests are second nature to me from both the exam and years of research. The ACT Science section rewards method over memorization, and I teach students a repeatable way to attack passages: read the visuals first, find what the question is actually asking, and manage the clock so they stop running out of time. Across five years of tutoring and my work as a teaching assistant, I've learned to spot exactly where a student is losing points and fix that specific gap rather than re-covering everything. Whether you're aiming to break 30 or chasing a top score, I tailor each session to your target and the passage types that trip you up most.
Debate

Debate

I've competed in debate for years, serving as captain of my high school team, reaching semifinals as a competitor, and continuing at the collegiate level as a member of The Ohio State University debate team. That range means I can teach both the fundamentals, case construction, argument structure, rebuttal, and cross-examination, and the higher-level skills that separate strong debaters, like reading a room, thinking on your feet, and adapting strategy mid-round. Alongside five years of tutoring experience, I know how to break debate down for a nervous beginner and how to sharpen an experienced competitor preparing for tournaments. Whether you're just starting out or aiming to place, I tailor each session to your event, your skill level, and the specific rounds you want to improve.
MCAT

MCAT

I scored a 517 on the MCAT (95th percentile), including a perfect 132 on the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations section, so I bring proven mastery of the exact content and strategies this exam demands. I have been an MCAT tutor for The Ohio State University and Blueprint. I have created massive study plan documents that have consistently worked for students.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, with coursework spanning cellular and molecular neuroscience, systems neuroscience and the structure and function of the nervous system, behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, and clinical neurological disease. For over two years I worked as a neuroscience peer tutor, running one-on-one and group sessions and building custom study plans, and I also served as a teaching assistant for History of Neuroscience and Cellular and Structural Neuroscience, where I graded assignments, held weekly office hours, and delivered a guest lecture that is now used as recorded course material. My approach is diagnostic: instead of re-teaching straight from the slides, I find where a student's understanding is actually breaking down and rebuild the concept using diagrams, analogies, and having them explain ideas back in their own words. Whether you're in an introductory survey or an upper-level seminar, I tailor each session to your course and help you connect neural structure to function so the material finally clicks.
Philosophy

Philosophy

I earned my philosophy minor from The Ohio State University, where I was selected to tutor for the philosophy department itself — working directly with students in introductory and intermediate courses. My coursework and tutoring covered the standard survey territory: ancient philosophy from Socrates through Aristotle, the modern period including Descartes, Locke, Hume, and Kant, and core ethical theories such as virtue ethics, deontology, and utilitarianism. I'm especially comfortable helping students who can follow a lecture but freeze up when asked to reconstruct an argument, identify a hidden premise, or defend a thesis in writing. My approach is to work through the primary texts alongside you rather than substituting summaries for them, so you leave able to do the reading on your own.
