I am currently a student at Tulane University studying political science on a pre-law track, and my academic background has given me a strong foundation in American history, government, English, writing, reading comprehension and essay writing. As a college student, I regularly work with complex readings, political concepts, research-based assignments and argumentative writing. I am also a writer for my university’s newspaper, which has helped me strengthen my ability to write clearly, organize ideas, edit for structure and tone, and communicate information in a way that is both engaging and easy to understand.
My tutoring approach is patient, organized and personalized to each student’s needs. I can help students break down confusing historical events, government concepts or reading passages into simpler explanations, while also helping them build stronger writing skills. For essay writing, I focus on helping students develop clear thesis statements, organize paragraphs, use evidence effectively and improve sentence clarity without losing their own voice. I believe strong writing comes from learning how to think through an argument, not just fixing grammar at the end.
I have experience helping peers and younger students with schoolwork, writing assignments and study strategies in both one-on-one and informal academic settings. I work best with middle school and high school students, as well as students who need support with introductory college-level writing, government or history courses. My goal is to make students feel more confident and less overwhelmed by showing them practical strategies they can use beyond one assignment.
