Tutoring has always benefited me significantly through my academic career. Being given the title of Student President in my high school, tutoring for students after school was an important add on. Students which had obtained A's in the class in prior years had the opportunity to earn "honor society points" for tutoring students that needed some extra help. As the one that set this up, tutoring other students became very rewarding to me. Teaching Algebra 1, Algebra 2, English, and Chemistry to other students impacted not only them, but me as well. In the 8th grade, Algebra 1 was offered to me and was taken for the first time. My freshman year, my high school suggested to take it again to ensure Algebra 2 would be very easy. Having taken Algebra 1 twice, a strong foundation in Algebra was acquired. When it came to Algebra 2 and later Calculus, it was quite easy as it was just building on Algebra 1. When it came time to take the SAT, having been a tutor helped with attaining a high score because of the constant review that came with tutoring. I acquired a score in the 1400s and later also began tutoring students for the SAT. As a tutor, in person and online tutoring will be offered. In person tutoring can occur at a home or at a nearby cafe or library. Online tutoring will be done via Zoom and I will use the whiteboard feature in order to show my work. Sharing screens will also be used if the student needs to show something in specific on a web browser. The call will be recorded and sent to the student to ensure the student can review.
