Hello! My name is Angel, and I am currently a college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Florida International University. Through my academic experience, I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in subjects like mathematics, statistics, and research methods. My coursework has strengthened my ability to break down complex ideas into simpler steps, which is a skill I apply when helping students understand challenging concepts.
In addition to my academic background, I work as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where I provide one-on-one support to children in educational and therapeutic settings. This experience has helped me develop patience, clear communication skills, and structured teaching strategies. I regularly work with elementary-aged children and help them develop academic, behavioral, and problem-solving skills through individualized instruction and positive reinforcement.
My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence and understanding rather than memorization. I like to break math problems into simple steps, use real-life examples, and encourage students to ask questions so they can fully grasp the material. I also adapt my teaching style based on each student’s learning pace and needs to ensure they feel comfortable and supported during our sessions.
I primarily tutor elementary and middle school students in mathematics, including topics such as basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, word problems, and pre-algebra. My goal is to help students improve their understanding of math, gain confidence in their abilities, and develop strong study habits that will support their long-term academic success.
