Hi, my name is Jeremiah, and I am a Psychology tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. I specialize in helping students understand complex concepts clearly and confidently, whether they are preparing for exams, working through challenging coursework, or trying to build strong study and critical-thinking skills. My tutoring style is highly interactive and student-centered. Rather than simply giving answers, I guide students step by step toward their own understanding, which helps them retain information longer and apply it more effectively. I encourage students to share questions or topics ahead of time so I can prepare targeted explanations and make the most of each session.
During college, I taught chess through an after-school program called The Knight School, where I instructed students from Pre-K through middle school. I led both small groups and large classes of up to 30 students in structured lessons followed by guided practice and gameplay. This experience strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning styles, explain abstract ideas in accessible ways, and keep students engaged in both one-on-one and group learning environments.
In addition to academics, I also offer beginner guitar lessons. As a self-taught guitarist, I understand the challenges students face when learning independently and help them progress efficiently while keeping lessons enjoyable. My approach focuses on learning songs students are excited about, naturally building technique, rhythm, and musical understanding without relying on dry drills alone. Whether I’m tutoring psychology, neuroscience, chess, or guitar, my goal is to help students feel capable, motivated, and supported.
I offer personalized lessons tailored to each student’s goals and am happy to begin with a brief consultation to ensure we’re a good fit. Feel free to reach out to ask questions or schedule your first lesson.
