Since I learned many of these topics not too long ago, I understand what can make them confusing and how to explain them in ways that are easier to understand.
I have experience helping my younger siblings and classmates with math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra, fractions, decimals, and word problems. When I tutor, I focus on breaking problems down step by step and checking for understanding along the way so students do not feel rushed or overwhelmed. I also like to help students create simple, organized notes and provide practice problems they can work on independently to help reinforce what they learn during our sessions.
I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and gaining confidence in their abilities. I enjoy working with elementary and middle school students and helping them improve both their understanding of math and their overall confidence in the subject. My goal is not only to help students complete their assignments, but also to help them feel more prepared and successful in class.
