I am currently pursuing my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University, with an expected graduation in June 2027. My academic journey has provided me with a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and physical science through coursework and extensive research experience at MIT, UC San Diego, and FIU. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and my hands-on laboratory experience with cell culture, spectroscopy, and materials characterization allows me to bring practical context to theoretical concepts.
My teaching experience includes instructing an 8th-grade physical science class through the FIU Teach Program using active learning and student-centered methods. I have also tutored high school and college students in biology and calculus for about a year. My approach is personalized and patient because I understand that not every student grasps concepts at the same pace. I wasn't always the strongest student myself, so I know what it's like to struggle and wish for better support. This drives my passion for helping students overcome their challenges.
When I work with students, I meet them where they are and tailor my explanations to their learning style. I work through practice problems together, break down complex concepts into manageable steps, and connect abstract ideas to real-life examples. Whether explaining cellular processes through everyday analogies or demonstrating how chemistry relates to drug delivery research, I make learning engaging and accessible while refining my own understanding of fundamental concepts.
