Bio

I am a recent college graduate with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Throughout my degree I gained a thorough understanding of algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus, probability, and more. I also have a great deal of programming experience in Java, Python, MATLAB, and C. addition to my degree, I have several actuarial exams completed including exam P and exam FM and I am working on completing my ASA designation.

Throughout my degree I gained a thorough understanding of algebra, geometry, statistics, calculus, probability, and more. I also have a great deal of programming experience in Java, Python, MATLAB, and C. addition to my degree, I have several actuarial exams completed including exam P and exam FM and I am working on completing my ASA designation.

In the past I mainly tutored student for calculus and other high school mathematics courses but more recently I have been focused on SAT prep. I like to take the approach of teaching well rounded mathematical understanding as opposed to Band-Aid solutions that will not help students long term. I am more than happy to revisit what some may call "basics" if needed and encourage my students to ask whatever math questions they have so I can better gauge and nourish their understanding of the subject.

I have experience tutoring middle school, high school, and college students, but I am open to tutoring anyone who needs help. I have some experience tutoring neurodivergent young men and women who have some combination of autism, ADHD, and dyscalculia. Many of my students also have intense test anxiety. I have been tutoring for 5 years and during that time I have assisted a diverse population of students whom I am proud to have helped. I offer in person sessions as well as online through the use of a digital drawing tablet.

I passed my AP environmental science class with an A in high school and continued to get the maximum score on my AP exam. I especially enjoy working with equations for population fluctuations and solving for unknowns in other math based problems. I am comfortable teaching any of the topics tested in the AP exam.

Throughout my undergrad I completed countless proof based classes where I utilized logic to solve seemingly simple but complex questions. Some examples include theoretical linear algebra, probability theory II, and partial differential equations. I also have experience with programming logic courses.
MATLAB

MATLAB

MATLAB was a major part of my undergraduate curriculum. I have worked with the language for over four years and have created a variety of projects including forest fire modeling, bridge sway simulations, and numerical analysis algorithms. I am comfortable teaching MATLAB to both programming beginners and experienced programmers who may just need help with the intricacies of the language.
