Hi! I’m Anthony, a medical doctor with a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology from the University of Houston–Victoria. I’ve always loved science, and over the years, I’ve developed a real passion for helping others make sense of it too. I work with students at all levels, whether that is high school biology, college physiology, or advanced nursing and medical board prep.

Having gone through these major academic milestones myself, I know how overwhelming science courses and board exams can feel. My focus is on breaking down complex mechanisms into clear, manageable concepts using real-world clinical examples to make the material stick. For students preparing for big tests like college finals, the NCLEX, or USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, we focus on smart study habits, active recall, and question dissection so you can handle tricky vignettes with confidence.

My main goal is to help you truly master the material instead of just memorizing facts for a test. Whether you are an undergraduate trying to ace a general bio course or a healthcare student navigating board prep, I tailor every session to your style and goals. If you want a tutor with real clinical background who keeps things approachable and supportive, feel free to send me a message. I’d love to work with you!

Approved Subjects

Anatomy

Anatomy

I am a medical school graduate with extensive training in human anatomy and its clinical applications. I help students move beyond trying to memorize disconnected names and instead build a clear, three-dimensional understanding of how anatomical structures relate to one another and function in the human body.
Biology

Biology

I am a Medical Graduate with a solid background in biology and experience as a peer tutor at the University of Houston–Victoria. During my time as a biology tutor, I helped college students understand complex topics like genetics, cell biology, and physiology by breaking them down into clear, manageable concepts. My tutoring style focuses on active learning and adapting to each student’s needs to build confidence and mastery. I use my medical training to connect biology concepts to real-life applications, making the material more engaging and easier to remember.
Microbiology

Microbiology

I am a medical school graduate with advanced training in microbiology, infectious disease, immunology, pharmacology, and clinical reasoning. I help students make microbiology manageable by organizing organisms into meaningful patterns instead of treating the subject as an endless list of facts to memorize.
NCLEX

NCLEX

I am a medical school graduate with extensive training in clinical reasoning, pathophysiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, and the integration of medical knowledge into patient-care decisions. I work with nursing students preparing for the NCLEX by helping them understand the concepts behind practice questions rather than relying only on memorization.
Nursing

Nursing

I am a medical school graduate with extensive training in clinical reasoning, pathophysiology, pharmacology, patient assessment, and the integration of science into patient-care decisions. I help nursing students understand the “why” behind complex concepts so they can apply what they learn in class, on exams, and in clinical scenarios.
Physiology

Physiology

I am a medical school graduate with extensive training in human physiology and the clinical application of physiologic principles. I help students make sense of complex systems by focusing on the “why” behind each process and not simply memorizing pathways, formulas, and isolated facts.
Psychology

Psychology

I help students understand psychology as a connected way of thinking about behavior, cognition, emotion, development, and mental health, not just as a long list of terms and theories to memorize. My medical training has given me a strong foundation in behavioral science, neuroscience, psychiatry, human development, and the biological and social factors that influence health.
Spanish

Spanish

I’m a fluent Spanish speaker and medical student with experience working as a Spanish interpreter. This role helped me develop excellent communication skills and a deep understanding of both formal and conversational Spanish. I enjoy helping students improve their language skills through practical conversation, grammar, and cultural context. My tutoring style is patient and tailored to each learner’s needs, whether beginner or advanced.
Study Skills

Study Skills

I help students build practical study systems that make learning more efficient, organized, and less stressful. My approach is based on the study methods I developed and refined throughout medical school, where managing a large volume of complex material required strong planning, active learning, and consistent review.
USMLE

USMLE

I am an MD student who passed the USMLE Step 1 and currently have clinical experience through core and elective rotations. I’ve helped other med students prepare for Step 1 by focusing on high-yield topics, question-based learning, and efficient study strategies. I emphasize understanding the material rather than memorizing facts, and I help students apply their knowledge through active recall and practice questions. My approach is supportive, practical, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style.

Patient and detailed in lessons

Helped with high yield concepts such as cardiology and endocrinology for standardized test preparation for things like NBME or Step 2 prep. I liked how he did an extensive step by step process on my test taking strategies and how to approach and interpret questions. He helped me improve not only the way I approach questions, but how to refine my review in the long term using my practice questions. Is very flexible with schedule and open to discuss outside of sessions for additional help. Can also help with clarification of overall knowledge using personalized lectures in one on one sessions.

GREAT TEACHER

I would say so far the best tutor I have had in a few years very patient and after booking him one time I’ve already booked him for the next days until my exam! He has taught me more than my own professor has. He focuses on the things that are important and takes the material that I give him and teaches it very well! Will keep seeing him as much as I can.
