I am a dual Medicine (MD)-Public Health (MPH) student at UMiami, having completed my undergraduate studies at Brown University, and recent Fulbrighter in Ireland.

I am passionate about helping students recognize their individual strengths to overcome the shame we so often feel when comparing ourselves to others. My expertise lies mainly in application and interview prep, science and medicine, and Spanish. More below:

I have extensive experience with application writing for college, research positions (former research coordinator at Harvard/Mass General Hospital), medical school applications, and prestigious scholarships (Fulbright US-Ireland Student Awardee). I would love to help you create an application that conveys your truth in the clearest and most interesting way. We can have meetings where we go over your application, or if you just want feedback, we can work asynchronously.

I have also excelled at science prerequisites to gain acceptance to medical school, including biology, basic chemistry, physics, and statistics, and critical reading. I have also taken the tests required for med school (MCAT, USMLEs Step 1+2). However, I am not a natural test-taker and have had to discover unique and personalized study plans for standardized tests. I can mentor those who feel alone or fear test-taking by taking a holistic, person-centered approach to test prep, rather than solely focusing on content or question interpretation.

Lastly, I am a fluent Spanish speaker after having lived in Miami, FL and Spain, but am not a native speaker. This means I remember each painful step I took in learning the language. I would love to help you improve your Spanish using methods I have personally tried and other alternatives.

I was a paid teaching assistant for Intermediate Spanish class at Brown University, and I run teaching workshops for medical Spanish in medical school in Miami where I treat patients all day in Spanish. Since I am not a native speaker, I remember each painful step in learning Spanish and can give you all the tips I have learned along the way and review relevant grammar, vocab, and pronunciation!

I struggled through taking Step 2 but managed to improve my score by 20pts in the last 2 weeks prior to my exam by changing my study style, from 220s to 240s. I found that tutors who did not struggle with test-taking were unable to help me improve my score beyond 220. I am able to help from someone who struggled to another! I enjoy finding little tweaks students can make to frame questions + situations in a different way and encouraging each step of the way. Half the battle is in the way we think about ourselves and the exam!
