Born and raised in Northern California, Conor O has worked in the fields of education and youth development in South Florida for over five years. After graduating from The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a BA in Anthropology, Connor O moved to Miami and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at Miami Dade College and a co-facilitator on the Children’s Trust Miami’s Youth Advisory Committee. The experience of working closely with students and assisting them with identifying meaningful service-learning activities and facilitating community-centered events and projects inspired Conor O to pursue a career as an educator with Miami Dade County Public Schools. Although primarily teaching English Language Arts and Intensive Reading, Conor O also holds certifications in Social Sciences.
In the spring of 2023 Conor O graduated from Florida International University’s (FIU) Executive Master’s in Public Administration Program. As a graduate student, Conor O assisted in research projects that addressed topics of public policy and urban education, and even published in the Journal of School and Society. During this time, Conor O also worked with the Florida House of Representatives as a legislative clerk, tasked with constituent support and correspondence.
