I am a caring professional who loves to teach and help students become successful in their educational pursuits. I have a love of History and Reading. I want to inspire students to love learning History and Reading also.

I am a veteran of the US Navy and have a Bachelors degree in Elementary & Special Education with a Masters degree in Secondary Education. I have been a substitute teacher and have extensive experience as a tutor. As a substitute teacher, I have worked with children Pre-K to 12th grade. I have worked with gifted, special needs and general education students. I can tutor all subjects, including Pre-Algebra through the 8th grade level as well as History and Reading through the adult level. I am familiar with Elementary School Common Core Math.

I prefer to make the lessons as interesting as possible using hands on, teacher created materials, puzzles, games, software, manipulatives and literature units.

I am also an avid photographer who has been taking pictures since childhood. I have taken many photography classes and am interested in passing along the tips and tricks I have learned.

I can come to you to tutor at the library, your home, or other agreed upon location. I am comfortable with having animals in the home.

I do not charge for consultation meetings. I try to be flexible with time available for tutoring. While I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I also offer make-up classes.
