Bonjour!
I'm Lucie, a native French speaker from Paris with ten years of teaching experience in France, Quebec, and the USA. I hold a Master's-level degree and formal teaching training, including a supervised classroom internship and two years as a substitute teacher in Quebec. I also have worked as a professional trainer for adults in academic settings and private companies.
As a dedicated French educator and a parent of 3 successful IB graduates, I have a deep, personal understanding of what it takes to succeed in advanced programs. I don't just teach the language; I teach the study habits and confidence needed to master complex grammar and literature so every session translates directly into classroom confidence and better grades.
I have taught with T'es branché! and am familiar with the other major programs used in American schools. Whatever your school uses, I align with it.
Here is how I help at each stage:
French 1–2: We build rock-solid foundations (pronunciation from a native ear, those tricky verb conjugations...) and the confidence to speak from day one.
French 3–5 Honors: This is where many strong students hit a wall. The jump from memorizing grammar to actually producing French. I specialize in that bridge by expanding academic vocabulary, mastering essay writing, and understanding authentic materials.
AP French Language and Culture: We practice the real exam tasks organized around the six AP themes.
I also welcome younger learners (ages 7–12) with a "learning by doing" approach using interactive games, visual aids, and storytelling that make French the highlight of their week. I also work with adults learning French for travel or business in goal-oriented sessions.
I believe mistakes are just stepping stones to fluency. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and highly organized. I offer a flexible schedule and am happy to do a quick introductory call to discuss your student's specific goals.
Let's get started!
