I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science. I returned to FGCU to continue with my Master's in Environmental Science with a focus of Physical Oceanography. I currently work full time as a high school chemistry, AP computer science, and science research teacher.
I find my students really succeed when they feel supported and are not afraid to ask questions. I do everything I can to let the student know that they are supported in their educational career while making lessons fun and relaxed. Depending on the student's specific needs, I will create a lesson where I show examples then have the student try on their own. I then have them go through a problem and explain the steps to me to ensure comprehension.
I have three years of formal high school teaching experience. Additionally, I worked with New Horizons of SWFL, where I worked with children that were gifted as well as those with IEPs. I was also a graduate assistant in my graduate program, where I grade assignments and assist the professor during lessons and exams. Additionally, I set up study sessions for my college students and provide one on one tutoring and support.
I want to inspire students to develop a curiosity of the world around them and a desire to learn. I enjoy utilizing a variety of resources, and I encourage parents to reach out with any suggestions and comments, I will respond in a timely manner, Feel free to contact me to schedule a lesson!
Feel free to contact me anytime! I am excited to see students grow.
