I received a Bachelor of Science in Physics & Astronomy from the University of Rochester in spring of 2025, graduating with distinction and as a member of the Sigma Pi Sigma National Physics Honor Society. Now, after graduation, I enjoy sharing my love and knowledge of physics and mathematics with others, as well as my passion for the English language!

When it comes to tutoring, I like to focus on the "why" of solving questions as well as the "how." I have tutored math, reading/writing, and physics since the beginning of high school.

My SAT and ACT scores were both in the 99th percentile (740 SAT EBRW/760 SAT Math, 35 ACT Reading/Writing/Math/Science). I have continued to familiarize myself with the new digital formats, and tailor my tutoring to students' time allowances, test formats, and personalities to ensure great results. I enjoy helping others learn the strategy behind succeeding on each section of standardized tests, as well as teaching tricks to get there. Additionally, I focus on exposure to practice problems and familiarizing students with what the real tests will "feel" like.

As a physics tutor, I have helped students with subjects ranging from simple mechanics to my highest level class, Quantum Theory. I focus on demonstrating how equations and concepts relate to one another, as well as how to use logic to work through tough problems before relying solely on math. Additionally, I enjoy explaining the ins and outs of using math to solve a problem, with methods they can repeat and retain to apply to future problems. In high school I was a state-ranked competing member of Florida Mu Alpha Theta, a timed, competitive mathematics organization, and took 7 AP® courses.

Very patient and helpful!

We have only had one lesson, but already we have learned a lot from Mia! We are working on ACT prep, and she has already taught my daughter some extremely helpful tips for navigating the reading portion of the test. Just as important, Mia was friendly, patient and kind. My 17-year-old and I both felt very comfortable talking to her and bringing up questions! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mia to other parents!

Knowledgeable and flexible/professional tutor!!

Have taken few lessons (and have ongoing lessons) from Mia for SAT, it doesn’t take long to appreciate not just her knowledge and strategies but her flexibility and responsiveness as well. Mia has a great thought process and is equally adept at SAT Reading and Math alike - fortunate to be learning from her and would recommend her without a doubt.
