About Mia

Bio

When it comes to tutoring, I like to focus on the "why" of solving questions as well as the "how." I have tutored math, reading/writing, and physics since the beginning of high school.

My SAT and ACT scores were both in the 99th percentile (740 SAT EBRW/760 SAT Math, 35 ACT Reading/Writing/Math/Science). When it comes to tutoring, I like to focus on the "why" of solving questions as well as the "how." I have tutored math, reading/writing, and physics since the beginning of high school.

My SAT and ACT scores were both in the 99th percentile (740 SAT EBRW/760 SAT Math, 35 ACT Reading/Writing/Math/Science). I enjoy helping others learn the strategy behind succeeding on standardized tests, as well as teaching tricks to get there. I like to help students learn the methods behind doing well on each section of standardized tests and how they differ. Additionally, I focus on practice problems and familiarizing students with what the real tests will "feel" like.

As a physics tutor, I have helped students with subjects ranging from simple mechanics to my highest level class, Quantum Mechanics 2. I focus on demonstrating how equations and concepts relate to one another, as well as how to use logic to work through tough problems before relying solely on math. However, I enjoy explaining the ins and outs of using math to solve a problem, with methods they can repeat and retain. In high school I was a state-ranked competing member of Florida Mu Alpha Theta, a timed, competitive mathematics organization, and took 7 AP® courses.

Now, I am a second-year studying astrophysics at a top 30 university, and enjoy sharing my love and knowledge of physics and mathematics with others, as well as my passion for the English language! Please feel free to contact me and set up a time to meet! I look forward to working with you.

Knowledgeable and flexible/professional tutor!!

Have taken few lessons (and have ongoing lessons) from Mia for SAT, it doesn’t take long to appreciate not just her knowledge and strategies but her flexibility and responsiveness as well. Mia has a great thought process and is equally adept at SAT Reading and Math alike - fortunate to be learning from her and would recommend her without a doubt.

Mia was very patient and supportive in helping my 11th grader prepare for her Physics AP exam. After searching through this website of the qualified teachers, we found that the initial trial lesson to the several regular lessons we did after selecting her was all very useful. Mia and my daughter connected well and we hope the extra awesome tutoring Mia provided will help her excel in her AP exams as well. We tried to do in person tutoring as well but that didn't pan out but we are so glad it didn't as we wouldn't have met Mia and had this tremendous opportunity with her.
