I've been teaching languages for over a decade now. During undergrad, I worked as an SAT, ESL, and Spanish tutor for Varsity Tutors before deciding to go out on my own. I've instructed countless students, both in the U.S. and abroad, who have struggled with grasping a foreign language. From English instruction at schools in southern Mexico to private Spanish lessons for adult learners in New York, I've truly worked with every kind of...

I've been teaching languages for over a decade now. During undergrad, I worked as an SAT, ESL, and Spanish tutor for Varsity Tutors before deciding to go out on my own. I've instructed countless students, both in the U.S. and abroad, who have struggled with grasping a foreign language. From English instruction at schools in southern Mexico to private Spanish lessons for adult learners in New York, I've truly worked with every kind of student.

Aside from my degrees in Spanish and translation, I have authentic, long-term experience with the language. I started studying Spanish as a child and always with teachers who were native speakers. In college, I took linguistics courses in Madrid and eventually moved to the beautiful rural state of Chiapas, Mexico. I've been teaching in Mexico for 5+ years, and I'm very passionate about my work. There's nothing like learning a language from someone who lives where it's spoken and can tell you about the culture firsthand.

Furthermore, I'm proud to now be working toward my second master's degree, through UMass Boston, which will be in Applied Linguistics. In my free time, I study German intensively, so I can one day pursue a Ph. D in Linguistics.

If you're interested in English writing or reading classes, I can assist you with that, as well. I've always prided myself on getting an 800 on the SAT Writing. Other than test scores, though, what speaks to my English skills is my long history of online articles. These subjects look at the human anatomy required to articulate sounds and the brain's role in allowing the mouth and respiratory system to produce such sounds. Professional, experienced, and dynamic!

I have taken a few different ESL lessons during my journey to become proficient in English, including a course at Columbia University. Thus, I got a chance to meet many teachers, but Tiffany is a special one. In my opinion, Tiffany's ability to connect with students is unique--she knows exactly what the student needs to achieve his/her goal. I like the structure of our lessons; the homework contains specific exercises that focus on improving my weaknesses. My current goal is to achieve a score of 100 on the TOEFL, and I feel I'm getting closer after every lesson with Tiffany and completing the homework she assigns, which is always customized and never overwhelming. In addition, Tiffany has a pleasant personality, a positive vibe, and a great sense of humor--all of these features make our lessons more enjoyable.
