I’m Eugene. My undergraduate degree is in Mechanical Engineering and I have a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering. During my 40 year Engineering career I sought out teaching opportunities. I taught a variety of undergraduate college courses, including Algebra, Probability and Statistics, and Math for College Liberal Arts. I also taught piano lessons to younger students, and taught children in Sunday School classes at my Church. After retiring from my Engineering career, I got my Florida Teacher’s Certificate and taught High School Algebra and Math for College Liberal Arts.
During my years of experience teaching in the classroom, I sought out opportunities to work with students individually. I’m convinced that most students need a boost in confidence as much as they need help with understanding. My approach is first to gauge their true level of understanding, then help shore up their confidence as I guide them through the method to the solution. I encourage the student to do as much as possible on their own, so they will understand the material, and feel confident of their own ability to solve the problems on their own.
