I try to bring this knowledge to my tutoring approach, brining in real world examples of how science actually works, and do everything I can to make learning a pleasant experience. I use lesson plans in which I usually introduce the topic in a fun and creative way, then explicitly teach the material. Afterwards I always ensure time for students to practice the material on their own and ask questions.
I have 4 years tutoring experience in high school and undergraduate biology working with a vast array of students. Additionally, I held review sessions everyday after school during my doctoral and masters studies to help students excel at graduate coursework.
