I am a military brat who is used to diversity, so working with different cultures is not a problem for me. Although I use humor in my teachings, I do take my sessions very serious.
I combine humor in my teachings, because I find that it allows for a more relaxed atmosphere. Children learn better when learning is fun. I am qualified to teach because I have raised three children of my own, and I have three grandchildren who I have taught as well. I also taught children in Kuwait conversational English and in order for them to learn I used pictures to break the language barrier.
I have a 45 hour DCF Certificate and over 40 years of experience teaching children. I have worked several daycare's and helped tutor in the after school program in Oveido Florida. I have nieces and nephews that I have read to on a daily basis, and a love for children. I have a Bachelor Degree in Applied Behavioral Science, and a minor in Sociology. I offer patience and know that each child is an individual, so each child will be treated with respect.
I want the children that I tutor to get something out of each session. I also want them to look forward to our next session. I look forward to hearing that their grades have gone up, that tells me that I'm doing something right.
