This is my 17th year teaching. Eight of these years were spent teaching third grade, in New Jersey. Currently, I am teaching in Florida. This is my 7th year in a first grade classroom. I am certified K-6th with a P-3 certification . I am ESOL certified and received my literacy endorsement. Together, let's make a difference.

I attended Kean University in New Jersey, and graduated with majors in Early Childhood Education and Psychology.  In addition, I have a P-3 certification.  For 8 years, my teaching experience was in a third grade classroom.  I was Teacher of the Year, and took this role very seriously.  During my teaching experience, my duties far exceeded that of the classroom. I coordinated graduation, taught Saturday school, taught various summer academies, presented at conferences, tutored, wrote curriculum, was on committees, and took 15 credits towards my supervision certificate.  Writing and math were very strong areas for me, and my students' test scores reflected this. No one child learns the same way.  My greatest fulfillment comes when together, we navigate through a challenge.  Manipulatives integrated with real-life experiences are effective tools that create a safe and fun academic environment.  Math may be tough or reading might not be your favorite.  Maybe you are looking to refine a skill or get a head start on new material.  Spend some time with me!  Your confidence will improve, and you will have fun too.

Spelling and letter formation is critical to language development and communication. It is a life skill that carries over into adulthood as well. Attention in this particular area paves a smoother transition into the world of language. I instructed third graders for eight years in the classroom. During this time period, the students were taught how to write in cursive and formulate their letters in print as well. Editing techniques were demonstrated and the students got involved in their own editing process. Currently, I am tutoring a child through WyzAnt in this exact particular area. Within two weeks, the child's handwriting improved and he moved forward to the next grade. One of the areas he improved in was going back and fixing his hand writing. I look forward to assisting students in their development of handwriting.

I was an educator in New Jersey for nine years, which means I am a very familiar with classroom curriculum. During my residence in Florida, I have steadily helped students improve academically and socially. Within weeks, grades improve. Being a homeschool educator allows the student to be in their natural environment and focus on one specific task. I am a valuable resource for aiding the process and vision. Very knowledgeable, patient and adapts very fast .

After only two weeks of tutoring my 6 year old son I saw a huge improvement in his work and so have his teachers. To put the icing on the cake she is an amazing person and an added bonus to her being so good at what she does. I'm happy I found Jennifer and I know she's the one to get my son where he needs to be and much further. I recommend her 100% and there's not enough stars to cover her ratings. I'm pleased:)

I hired Jennifer for my son who is in 2nd Grade and was having trouble with reading comprehension. It's a decision that I was very happy I made. Jennifer is extremely patient and uses several learning techniques which all proved to be successful. My son enjoys his time with her and has shown improvement in his reading assessments by two letter grades. I am very happy to have Jennifer tutor my son and would highly recommend her.
