Melissa V. is an active piano instructor, accompanist, collaborator, and soloist located in Central Florida. Her diverse musical interests and study have led to a variety of teaching and performing opportunities. Currently she serves as an adjunct professor of piano and accompanist at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida in addition to running her own personal music studio.
Melissa has taught and performed in multiple settings, including university, public school, and studio. She formerly served as adjunct professor of class piano and graduate teaching assistant at the University of Central Florida, director of piano and chorus at Lakeland Senior High School, class piano instructor at the Dr. Phillips School of the Arts in Orlando, as well as piano and vocal teacher in several music studios- all while managing her own. As a performer, Melissa has been privileged to work with a variety of students (K-12 through collegiate), churches, artists, and groups. Ms. Vosik has a broad spectrum of experience playing multiple genres: classical, musical theater, pop, jazz, Christian. This diversity informs her teaching.
In her spare time, Melissa seeks ways to refine her craft whether it be studying and accompanying faculty and students at the InterHarmony Music Festival (July 2021/2022,) taking private voice lessons, or pursuing foreign language study to further develop vocal coaching and diction skills.
Lessons with Ms. Vosik will establish musical foundations but with your goals in mind! It would not be unusual to learn scales, Debussy, and the Beetles in one lesson! There are so many "dialects" within the language of music and it's an amazing journey to uncover even some of them!
