My love of teaching comes from a lifelong love of learning and higher education. Currently, I am enrolled in Florida Atlantic University and in the process of receiving my Masters in Social Work. I also have my Master's in Special Education, graduating with honors and am a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. I worked as a public school teacher for years with special education students and also at a Catholic school with special education students. I am patient, understanding and know how to work with people with varying degrees of limitations and abilities. I try to make learning as fun as possible and use methods that I've developed over the years with my students to keep learning interesting and not boring or repetitive. My style is more similar to that of a counselor or coach which may be preferable for those who get bored easily.

I've worked with students with all sorts of special needs ranging from autism, emotional disturbance, anxiety, test taking anxiety, and depression. My specific focus is working with students with autism, any type of learning disability, mental health issues, test-taking anxiety, and ADHD, among other disabilities/abilities.

I'm up for any challenge and I hope to help you realize your full learning potential. At this time, I will only be working virtually and accepting students for online appointments. Please contact me for any further information. I look forward to helping you!! Anna

ADHD

ADHD

I have a masters in special education. I have also privately tutored students with ADHD. I know how to keep a child with ADHD interested in learning because I keep distractions to a minimum, take frequent breaks as needed, and use music as a means to relax students while completing work.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I completed my student teaching at the AMAC school (Association for Metroarea Autistic Children) where I worked with children with varying degrees of autism. I taught children who were high-functioning Aspergers students to very low-functioning students who were non-verbal. I taught movement, social skills, life skills, as well as academics. It was a great experience and I made progress with my students. I also learned techniques such as positive reinforcement and applied behavior analysis to chart progress which are effective approaches for working with the autistic population.
Career Development

Career Development

My first foray into career development began right after college when I was hired as a corporation recruiter for a large legal recruiting firm; here, I learned how to interview clients, prepare clients for interviews, review and edit resumes, and prepare attorneys to interview for in-house jobs at various corporations. Most recently, I trained new hires at a social services agency and worked directly with our clients as a career coach for people with and without special needs. I believe in a collaborative approach that assesses your needs, strengths, interests, and goals and helps you capitalize on them. I will make this experience fun for you and will be with you coaching you, guiding you, and cheering you on every step of the way!

I have extensive experience as a substitute teacher in various schools throughout NYC in common branches (elementary school education) and I am familiar with the common core standards and curriculum. I would love to help Elementary school students achieve their goals. I just completed my Master's in Special Education, graduating with honors.

Additionally, I wrote film reviews for a local arts publication called "Art and Propaganda" for several years and now read film reviews just for pleasure.. I am passionate about film and filmmaking and think I could be an asset to anyone who needs help in all aspects of film. I am currently in the early stages of writing a screenplay and am excited to have the opportunity to help you with your project!

Knowledgeable and Patient Tutors

I really enjoy working with this tutor because she is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. She helps me answer some questions about IO psychology and she provides very in-depth explanation of the problems which I appreciate. She is also willing sacrifice her sleep to help you and I am really touch by that gesture. Overall great tutor and I would love to work with her again.

Great Lifecoach

I got distracted and off topic so I didn't get done what I'd hoped to get done which is the only reason for giving four stars instead of five. I would have really liked to have had some redirection when I got off topic but that is my fault. Anna is incredibly smart, talented and very motivating. I do recommend her.
