English is my love, and I tutor English grammar, composition and literature K-12, as well as college grads and undergrads. I tutor many students in math from basic numbers through Algebra. I also love to help folks prep for the SAT or the GED and I have an excellent track record.

Currently accepting students both in person and online.

I've written English curriculum for three major curriculum companies, focusing mainly on ESL or English grammar and composition. As a professional writer, editor, and proofer, I've assisted many folks with their compositions, from middle school essays to doctoral theses and from small promotional brochures to books for publication.

My entire adult life has been spent in some form of communications. I've taught English, voice (music), public speaking, drama, and piano in school settings and as a private tutor. I've also worked as a trainer for adults in all forms of written and spoken communication, a tutor and counselor for underprivileged women and children, and an inspirational speaker and musician that has traveled the country working with women and children. I love people, I love children, and I will do my very best to help you.

My specialty is identifying learning gaps--areas that the student has not mastered in the past and is now creating a problem for them. I then focus on filling in those gaps to get the student back on track. As an experienced curriculum writer, I am uniquely equipped to determine what the student knows and what areas need to be strengthened. My varied background gives me a unique perspective on how each student learns and then teaching them in that method.

Excellent Tutor Making Tutoring Fun

Angel is a fantastic tutor, she has helped my son with his reading and sight words immensely. She keeps it new and fresh with him, playing games and doing different activities. Each week he is excited to see her and I see a measurable improvement in his abilities after each session. She has made such a positive impact with him, and he enjoys the sessions so much that I added a session for my daughter, because she was jealous that he was having all the fun. Most importantly, his confidence has improved, and his teachers say that he is more involved in the reading activities in the classroom. Angel has had such an impact on my son and his learning, I would recommend her highly.

Highly recommend

We are impressed with Angel thus far! She has been very responsive and flexible in communication from the beginning. We had a great initial consultation when she showed a desire to go above and beyond to help my daughter be successful. She was very prepared for their first session and was able to "hit the ground running". So far Angel has exceeded our expectations as a tutor for our college age daughter!

Engaging, fun and Great personality

Ms. Angel started tutoring our son reading this summer. Her kind demeanor and extensive knowledge work well with the needs of our family. Our son was immediately engaged and excited to get to work with her. she also immediately understood his weaknesses and let us know what they were so we can be informed parents. We continue to work with her and are thankfully to her for going above and beyond to help our son.
