My passion is learning. I believe in the power of knowledge. My love for acquiring knowledge lead me to a rewarding career in teaching. I taught for 13 years at the high school level. During those years, I taught biology, physical science, anatomy and physiology. As a Science Teacher, I also had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge of science by participating in various research programs at various institutions throughout New Jersey. The most unforgettable research experience was being invited to be part of a research team that created an experiment to be tested in microgravity at the NASA headquarters in Houston, Texas on a trip aboard the G1 Force plane.
Currently, I am working at the elementary level as a School Counselor. In this position, I provide support to students in various areas including social emotional education, science tutoring (elementary through college-level students), career-focused programs, test-taking strategies and study skills. In addition, I oversee students that receive Section 504 services and provide support as needed.
It is my goal to provide a learning experience that satisfies the specific need of the students. Tutoring sessions will focus on reviewing the specific content, identifying areas for improvement, provide support by reteaching content in a manner that is clear and simple for the learner to understand, and ultimately, teaching strategies for studying and test-taking that will help the learner achieve success.
At this time, tutoring sessions will only be offered online as we continue to practice safety protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic. I look forward to working with you and being a part of your journey towards academic success!
