I structure my lessons based on student needs and learning styles. My top priority is that students feel they are comfortable and are in a safe environment when they are learning. I prefer online/remote tutoring lessons, but I am willing to meet at a library or other public space if students prefer an in-person tutoring lesson.

I structure my lessons based on student needs and learning styles. My top priority is that students feel they are comfortable and are in a safe environment when they are learning. I prefer online/remote tutoring lessons, but I am willing to meet at a library or other public space if students prefer an in-person tutoring lesson.
I graduated from Furman University in 2023 with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. While pursuing my degree, I specialized in ecology and environmental science and I did field work on water quality and bacteria associated with water quality. Aside from these areas, I also specialized in anatomy/physiology and cell biology. During my undergraduate experience, I double majored with music with a focus on music theory and flute performance. I have taught various one-on-one music lessons and classes on music theory and performance. These lessons started when I was in high school and continued throughout college. I have taught approximately 15 one-on-one music lessons to middle and high school students. Each lesson, I would state my expectations for the student, go over how the student has progressed, and positively encourage students.
While pursuing my master's degree in teaching at Furman University, I student-taught at 2 high schools where I taught approximately 120 freshman about general biology and 120 seniors about marine biology. I was supervised during these times as I was training to become a teacher, but I constructed classwork, PowerPoints, labs, and lessons for 2 semesters in the 2023-2024 school year.
As of now, I currently work for an aquarium where I work in education in a marine biology field. I educate and inform people about specific marine animals, their habitats, and conservation. Daily, I will give public narrations to educate the public about a specific habitat, and I am consistently learning new things about biology and the animals I work with.
