AP/IB Educator - AP World History / IB Geography

My name is Trevor, and I currently teach AP World History: Modern to the students in our Pre-IB program and IB Geography SL/HL to those in our Diploma Program (DP) with a focus on Urban Environments, Leisure, Sport, and Tourism, and Food and Health. I attended the AP exam reading for 2024 and 2025, where I graded student responses for the May exam. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with my B.A. in History and an M.A. in Public History.

My lessons work best when focusing on the standards of the AP/IB Exam.

For AP World History:
For the best tutoring experience, we will concentrate on short-answer questions (SAQs), long essay questions (LEQs), document-based questions (DBQs), and multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Writing makes up 60% of the exam score and is where I can assist best, although we can work on MCQ practice as long as they are to the standards of the AP exam.

For IB Geography:
For the best tutoring experience, we will concentrate on which aspects of the course the student finds the most pressing, and I can assist as follows:

• Internal Assessment (IA)/ Extended Essay (EE) in Geography - I am most effective for IAs that are written for Urban Environments, Leisure, Sport, and Tourism, or Food and Health, but can still assist with other geographic themes. The earlier in the writing process and the more time the student has until submission, then the more effective we can make the paper.
• Paper 1, Paper 2, or Paper 3
• Reviewing Past Content

When reaching out to set a first-time session, it is beneficial and highly recommended, although not requried, that you list the following information or have them available during the first lesson so I can better understand where you are academically: what textbook do you use for your class, what unit you are currently learning, and what type of assistance you are looking for.
