If you’re a student who needs help with a paper, a college application essay, or a history or government class that feels like a list of dates to memorize, I can help. I’m a tutor based in Jupiter, Florida, and I work with middle school students and up. I hold a master’s degree in Global Communication from George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs, where I concentrated in strategic communication and public diplomacy.
Before I started tutoring, I worked in politics and public affairs. I was campaign manager for a municipal race in Westport, Connecticut, with a budget of about $100,000. That work meant writing and editing under deadline and explaining policy to voters who had no reason to care about it yet, which is much of what I do with students now.
I tutor writing, including essay structure, argument, grammar, proofreading, and editing, from class papers to college applications. I also tutor United States history, world history, government and politics, political science, geography, and social studies. Right now I’m working with a high school student on AP U.S. History, helping her turn a long list of dates and key terms into a clear narrative she can remember and use on the exam. Each session starts with the material in front of us, whether that’s a paragraph you wrote or a concept that isn’t landing, and we work through it together. I’d rather you leave able to explain why an argument works than with a corrected draft you can’t defend.
