I bring to students a sincere wish to share the knowledge and experience I've obtained in over 30 years of professional experience and study. My background as a Certified Public Accountant includes work with financial statements, tax returns, consulting, special projects, and government compliance. I have a degree in business from California State University Northridge. I am also a rated chess master.

I've tutored youngsters at chess, and adults with college accounting classes. I've also trained co-workers in accounting tasks and in using Microsoft Excel. I listen well and give my best effort to determine what approach to take with each student.

I have been using Excel regularly for over 20 years, and I have worked with QuickBooks numerous times as well. I've been working as an accountant for thirty years.

Please note that although I only tutor in subjects I've studied, I do need some preparation time to understand how a book presents concepts and examples. I do not charge for time it takes me to refresh my knowledge. I ask that you allow enough time before your assignment is due or you have to take your exam, so that I can provide meaningful assistance.

I have taken advanced Excel courses to meet my continuing education requirements, and passed with high scores. I've also had to take numerous Excel tests to be placed on temporary work assignments, and I've always passed those as well.

As a CPA I have prepared and/or reviewed thousands of tax returns. I strive to comply with the law and minimize the tax liability at the same time. I understand tax concepts, and can explain these to a student.

Really knows his stuff... Will go through homework problems line by line.. I would recommend him if you have any tax homework questions. He's also a CPA and would most probably be knowledgeable in other accounting areas.
