I've devoted my life to being an artist since I was twelve years old. Since that time I've lived in several countries and drawn from many cultures in order to continue my quest for knowledge. I am in several private collections and have been in a few museum shows as well. I've devoted my life to being an artist since I was twelve years old. Since that time I've lived in several countries and drawn from many cultures in order to continue my quest for knowledge. I am in several private collections and have been in a few museum shows as well. I have the rare ability to bring out the most creative aspects of my students in a manner that excites them and improves their technical capabilities, plus stimulates the imagination as well. A number of my students have exhibited their work and have applauded me for helping with their development. Driven - knowledgeable- and focused ,plus fun as that's the reason for creating-- let's get started- I'm the real deal -- and modest too!

Exhibitions -decades of experience at every level of instruction- Selected for Yale Gifted Program in Connecticut---visiting professor at Dartmouth and Parsons School of Design... Incredible knowledge of history of art and it's connection with drawing and painting now ,plus I love to paint / draw .Always have and will continue because of my curiosity!

In one or two years , I have taken a number of students on a journey that they never had dreamed of ---I helped give them a path that they could explore for several years and obviously, I'm very proud of that fact ++ I draw or paint every day ! What's better???

Fun and Informative!

Charles is a really fun teacher. We worked on how to develop values in a drawing. After working with Charles for one session, I was immediately able to apply what he taught me and improve my artwork. In a helpful and kind way, he helped me to develop my artistic eye and know how to improve my drawings. He also incorporates art history into the lesson, which makes it interesting. Charles is very personable and genuinely wants to share his knowledge to help you to evolve as an artist. I would recommend working with Charles!

Encouraging and Routine Breaking

Charles is a great tutor for anyone who is looking to break out of their shell as an artist. He is very encouraging of personal expression and will push you to think outside of your usual routine. He is also very informed about art history and shares his knowledge during lessons. He's very engaging and encourages you to think for yourself and use your own understanding to answer questions. If you are looking for someone to help you become more expressive and creative, Charles would be great for you.
