I am a Mom of 4 teenagers and I am also a registered nurse. I have over 10 years of prior experience as a teacher of the speech and language impaired and also experience with homeschooling. I am looking forward to teaching/tutoring students in either the regular ed or special ed population in a variety of areas.

I have years of experience teaching and providing speech and language therapy for both regular ed and special ed students in both the school setting and the home school setting. I have also raised 4 children who are all very different types of learners and are all honor students who have had success both inside and outside of school. I have had a lot of success instilling discipline along with a passion for reading, writing and language arts.

I have 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, one in Communication Disorders and one in Nursing. I was a teacher of the speech, language and hearing impaired for 10 years. I also homeschooled several children in my community before I had my own family. I have always loved English, I am the daughter of an English teacher and the mother of 4 English honors students. I love to get students excited about reading and writing no matter what their interests are! I am skilled at and committed to making connections that best fit the developmental needs and interests of the individual child/student while building the concepts they must grasp to meet the needs of the curriculum.

I have multiple years of experience with lots of different types of learners and have seen success with a variety of learning environments and styles of learning and studying.
