Hi there, and welcome! I'm a professional 3D Artist and Real-Time Developer with over 7 years of industry experience creating broadcast graphics seen by millions of viewers. My work has aired across ESPN productions of Monday Night Football, NBA, MLB broadcasts — where I build and optimize real-time visuals in Unreal Engine. Before my time at Disney/ESPN, I spent years producing 3D assets and animations for technical training programs, for government subcontractors supporting companies such as Boeing.

But long before any of that, I was a tutor during my degree many hours helping my peers succeed, and I've continued tutoring ever since. For me, the greatest reward has always been watching the "light" switch on: that moment when a concept clicks and a student begins not just understanding the material, but building on it and accelerating their own growth. Having a hand in someone else's development is genuinely one of the most rewarding things I do.

-> Autodesk Maya — my home base since 2009, and what I've taught since 2014. Modeling is my specialty, and I'm well-versed in animation, lighting, rendering, critiques, and troubleshooting.

Through out my career I have used animation skills learned from my time at Full Sail to animate everything from mechanical parts to full on human characters. While it may not have been the strong focus of my career, i have done quite a fair amount of spreading across several programs such as Maya, Blender, 3DS Max and Unreal Engine. In addition, I have strong knowledge of the supporting tools each software offers to help animators.

I have been a user of Maya for ten years and currently working as a 3D Graphic Artist in the government contracting field for the last 3+ years and have tutored various 3D disciplines since 2014. My education includes a bachelors in Computer Animation from Full Sail University as well as a Certificate in Computer Animation from the Center for the Digital Imaging Arts.

My experience with Blender started in july 2020 while working for a government subcontractor creating 3d models. Since then I have continued to use Blender for any and all 3d modeling and animating purposes through my time at the Walt Disney Company.

I first used Unreal Engine professionally in 2021 for the Walt Disney Company. During my time there I handled everything from asset integration, character animation,material creation and scene lighting. On the technical side I am versed in Blueprint visual scripting in Unreal as well as the prior messaged visual elements.

Great Tutor - This is coming from a professor of computer science

I have really high standards when hiring someone to teach me computer related tasks. I am a computer science professor with a strong background in video/photo work. I understand biomechanics, but have little experience as an animator. I had a very specific task, I need to animate hyper-realistic race walking for a project. Griffin jumped right in, determined what was frustrating me about the way I was trying to animate and proposed a quick solution. We are going to test it in our next session, but I can already tell that he is super knowledgeable and easy to understand. When I learn a new skill, I really want to understand why things work, not just the steps to accomplish them. Griffin is perfect for someone that really wants to learn. When I teach, I try not to fish for my students, but teach them to be fisherman. Griffin will make me a fisherman in animation. I am looking forward to our next few sessions. :) If you are looking for someone to help you with your MAYA project, definitely consider Griffin!
