I started out my career as an RN in the MICU, which I loved. As soon as I was comfortable I began to precept new nurses and have done it until recently. While still working critical care, I warned my MSN and got board certified in Family Medicine. From the hospital, I went into the outpatient acute care setting and transitioned into Family Practice at a large, busy Family Practice office. I stayed in that position for 9 years and was one of 2 preceptors in an office 10-12 providers. Family and life demands led me to part time employment, but I miss teaching. I have always enjoyed it and want to continue in a different arena that is flexible with my schedule.
