Hi! I'm Blake, an ARRT-registered radiologic and CT technologist who enjoys helping students and newer technologists understand the material and feel more confident in the field.
I graduated from Florida State College at Jacksonville with an A.S. in Radiologic Technology, earning a 3.8 GPA and high honors in May 2025. I began working in CT shortly afterward and took the ARRT CT registry exam in July 2026.
Before becoming a technologist, I worked as an MRI Technologist Assistant beginning in 2023. I worked directly with patients, assisted with transfers, prepared rooms, helped with contrast-related tasks, removed IVs, stocked supplies, and learned the day-to-day workflow of a hospital.
I now work in a busy hospital environment and regularly help newer technologists with CT protocols, anatomy, Siemens scanners, contrast, patient preparation, renal function and GFR considerations, allergies, prior contrast reactions, ECG requirements, and patient care.
My teaching style is simple: first figure out what you know, where you're struggling, and how you're currently studying. Then we'll break difficult concepts into manageable pieces and find ways to make the information stick.
Anatomy is one of my strongest areas, especially bones, muscles, processes, and understanding anatomy as it relates to CT. I also enjoy using memory tricks, associations, simple explanations, and humor when it helps.
I can also help newer techs with the practical side of entering the hospital environment, including what to expect, questions to ask, and how to approach unfamiliar situations and protocols.
I'm still learning too, and I don't pretend to know everything. If I don't know an answer, I'll tell you and we'll find the correct information rather than guess.
I don't guarantee passing scores or specific exam results. Your own preparation and studying are essential. My role is to help you understand the material, identify weak areas, and give you a knowledgeable and relatable person in your corner.
