Hi, I'm Alex, I have 5 years of math tutoring experience and 1 year of classroom experience. I specialize in SAT math, pre-calculus, geometry, trigonometry, calculus and algebra. I graduated cum laude with a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Florida where I took math courses up to Analytic Geometry and Calculus Two and received As in each class. My tutoring philosophy centers on building a strong conceptual foundation rather than relying on memorization. I believe that when students truly understand why a concept works, they gain the confidence to solve unfamiliar problems independently. During our sessions, I break down challenging topics into manageable, easy-to-understand steps and encourage students to think out loud as they work through problems. This allows me to identify misunderstandings in real time and adapt my lesson to best suit each student.

Hi! I'm a full time math tutor with a special focus on SAT math. I have personally helped over a dozen students score above 750 on their SAT math. I have 5 years of tutoring experience and 1 year of classroom experience. The key to the SAT math section is to think like the College Board who create the exam. There are 4 sections and 20 sub sections. My approach is to go through each sub section with my students to get them to a point where they feel as though there is nothing the exam can throw at them that they aren't familiar with. My son needed some help with his SAT math. He wasn’t too confident going into it but even after just one session he seems to have a much better grasp of the concepts. Alexander was really helpful and we will definitely be having more sessions with him.

Knowledgeable and helpful tutor

Alexander helped me improve my areas of struggle on the SAT Math portion. With practice questions, I've been able to grasp concepts that I would usually overthink fairly quickly. If I was in need of assistance, he would walk me through the question which made some of the more difficult topics easier to understand. He is open-minded and listens to my approach for these sort of questions and lets me know how he would solve it to maximize my time and score on the real test.
