I have been helping others understand challenging concepts for as long as I can remember. So, after 30+ years working with nuclear power and nuclear weapons as active duty Navy and later as a Department of the Navy civilian, overlapping with 10+ years of part-time teaching and tutoring, I made the decision to become a full time high school teacher and increase my tutoring support. I am passionate about helping students achieve breakthrough understanding, especially those who do not otherwise have access to top notch instruction. I focus heavily on understanding rather than memorization. Memorization may be able to get you through a test, but it is a horrible foundation for long term success. Understanding lays a much more solid foundation as well as making the subject much more enjoyable.
Temporarily certified to teach math and physics in the state of Florida while completing remaining requirements for final certification. Approved as an official Florida Step Up for Students (SUFS) scholarship service provider.
