I was a full time private tutor for 8 years for 2 elementary students. I worked for Bright Horizons Family Solutions (a before and after school program) as a teacher for 9 years. I worked with elementary age students in a classroom with 15 to 18 students. I was a substitute teacher for Duval County Schools. I stepped into my first classroom as a teacher assistant in 1975. My method and approach to teaching is warm, strengths based, neurodiversity affirming instruction that builds confidence through clarity, patience, and real world practice. I am the author of The Cracked Vessel Born Different and Preparing Students with Autistic Spectrum Disorder for Post-Secondary Education: A Qualitative Content Analysis. Lastly, I volunteer for Murry Hill Theater.
