I hold a Ph.D. in Rhetorics, Communication, and Information Design from Clemson University, where my research focused on disability studies, creative nonfiction, and digital rhetoric. I also earned my M.A. in English from Clemson University and a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from University of West Florida. My academic work has been recognized with several awards, including an Honorable Mention for the Victor J. Vitanza Outstanding RCID Dissertation Award. These experiences have given me deep expertise in composition, rhetoric, research writing, creative writing, and critical analysis.
I have been teaching at the college level for over seven years in a variety of settings. As an Adjunct Professor at Hillsborough Community College, I taught English Composition I and II. I also served as an Instructor at Los Angeles Film School, where I taught Creative Writing and Foundations of Writing, and as a Graduate Teacher of Record at Clemson University, teaching Rhetoric and Composition, Technical Writing, and Business Writing. I have worked with traditional and nontraditional college students in both in-person and online formats, designing lessons that break down complex writing tasks into manageable steps and emphasizing drafting, revision, and clear rhetorical awareness.
My teaching approach is student-centered and process-driven. I focus on helping students build confidence in their ideas while developing strong thesis statements, organized arguments, and polished prose. Whether working one-on-one or in a classroom setting, I tailor instruction to individual learning styles and goals, supporting students with brainstorming, research strategies, close reading, and editing. I am especially experienced in guiding students through academic essays, research papers, and creative projects, and I am committed to creating an encouraging, inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking intellectual risks and growing as writers.
