Saxophone Teacher and Music Tutor

Hi, I'm Ommar! I'm an undergraduate at the University of North Florida who is currently studying Jazz Saxophone. I have been playing saxophone and clarinet since I was in middle school and many years of experience playing in ensembles ranging from big bands and wind symphonies to chamber groups and jazz quartets. I am well-versed in western classical music theory, as well as jazz and non-diatonic harmony. I also have experience in musical composition/arranging and instrumentation.

I believe that good guidance is the most important thing for students of all ages and skill levels to ensure that they remain motivated and engaged with the material. I try to teach in a way that is suited to each specific student and their needs and aspirations. I have several years of experience tutoring students at a grade school level, as well as adults in need of supplementary musical assistance. My main goal as a teacher is to open up pathways for my students that can allow them to reach their full potential as musicians, and there is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing a student use the resources I have given them and make strides in their playing/musicianship.
