Hi! I’m an enthusiastic and patient tutor who enjoys helping students feel confident and capable in their learning—especially in math and social studies.
While I’m new to formal tutoring, I’ve been regularly helping my middle school–aged sister-in-law with her Algebra homework. Through this experience, I rediscovered how fun the material can be when it’s broken down step by step. One of my favorite moments is seeing her expression change when a problem finally “clicks” and she realizes it’s easier than she thought. Helping students reach that moment of understanding is what motivates me to tutor.
I tutor elementary math, pre-algebra, Algebra 1, American history, and geography, and I focus on explaining concepts in a clear, supportive, and low-pressure way. I believe learning should feel approachable, not intimidating, and I adapt my explanations to each student’s pace and learning style.
I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Psychology and a minor in General Business, which helps me bring strong communication skills, patience, and an understanding of how people learn and stay motivated. My goal is to help students not only complete their assignments, but also build confidence and independence in their academic abilities.
If you’re looking for a tutor who is encouraging, easy to work with, and genuinely excited to help students succeed, I’d love to work with you!
