I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school class and was named the Arizona Interscholastic Association Student of the Year. I obtained my BS in Medical Studies from Arizona State University, graduating summa cum laude and defending an honors thesis to graduate from Barrett, the Honors College at ASU. I scored a 521 on the MCAT (approximately 98th percentile) and was accepted to Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. While in medical school, I passed USMLE Step 1 on the first try and scored a 273 on USMLE Step 2 (approximately 97th percentile). My previous tutoring experience involves helping two high school students study for the ACT/SAT in one-on-one environments, one in a paid position and one in a volunteer position. My strategy for tutoring involves understanding a student’s knowledge level and goals, formulating a plan and study schedule, utilizing spaced repetition and in-depth discussions of topics, and regular practice to achieve success.
