I'm Lolita, a homeschool mom who loves helping students improve their English and writing skills. I graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a major in history and a minor in art history. I homeschooled my two daughters, who are currently thriving at UF. I was their primary educator from K-12 and while I earned an IB diploma from a public high school, I found the freedom of tailoring their lessons to suit their abilities invaluable. My favorite lessons included analyzing literature, mastering grammar, and connecting the dots in history.
I also partnered with parents in a homeschool co-op to help their students master writing and grammar skills. I prepared detailed lesson plans with both the structure and mechanics of grammar, and introduced ways to add style to their writing content. For 4 years, I worked with a group of ten 5th and 6th graders, providing feedback on their writing, as well as equipping their parents with tools to reinforce the material at home.
For 11 years I have been a coach and mentor in youth robotics in Northeast Florida. My primary role was helping students develop their communication skills. I worked with elementary and middle school aged students to create presentations, learn technical writing, and develop public speaking skills. As this group graduated high school, I proofread papers for them and helped them develop their college application essays.

I love to see students' confidence grow as they master new skills. When working with students my focus is breaking down the information to make it manageable and understandable. I also present numerous examples to help the student fully grasp the material. I am most familiar with Classical home education, but I would love to help your child with any aspect of writing, grammar, and vocabulary they need to improve. I can help students learn by meeting them where they are and providing both the encouragement and the know-how for them to succeed. I look forward to the opportunity to help your child reach their full potent
