I am a Florida-certified 6-12 mathematics teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology: Space Science and eight years of experience teaching high school mathematics. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students across a wide range of mathematical abilities, from students who need additional support with foundational skills to students preparing for more advanced high school mathematics. My teaching experience includes Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, AP Calculus and other high school mathematics coursework.
My approach to teaching is patient, supportive, and focused on understanding rather than memorization. I work to identify the specific concepts or skills that are causing a student difficulty and then explain them in different ways until the material becomes understandable. I have extensive experience helping students who have fallen behind or lack confidence in mathematics, and I understand that students often need a different explanation or approach before a concept clicks. I use guided practice, examples, questions, and immediate feedback to help students become more independent and confident in solving problems.
My eight years in the classroom have given me extensive experience adapting instruction to individual student needs and communicating mathematical concepts clearly. I enjoy helping students build both their mathematical skills and their confidence, and I look forward to bringing that experience to one-on-one tutoring.
