I have two years of volunteer tutoring experience. I often help students one-on-one with math homework in grades 5-12. I love utilizing white boards and encouraging students to write out what they know. I often approach a question by asking the student to write out key words and numbers, so I can better understand how to help and guide them in the right direction. I also like to give example questions and have the student explain the steps of the example after I go through it. This helps me determine what the student is still struggling with, and helps the student remember the process for another practice question.
