I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Business and a minor in mathematics. I currently teach business, economics, and math courses at my school. I’ve been a teacher for over 15 years and have been a tutor for even longer. I've taught grades 7 - 12 and have tutored grades 4 - 12 and students at EFSC. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Business and a minor in mathematics. I currently teach business, economics, and math courses at my school. I am certified in Math 6-12 and have taught math courses from pre-algebra to pre-calculus. I also tutor students in the SAT math and ACT math and science.

I tutor students year round if they are having difficulty in their course. Over the summer I usually help students with any deficits they had the previous year and then work ahead and get them prepared for the course they will be taking in August. I also do a lot of SAT/ACT tutoring so students are ready to take those tests as many times as needed to get the score they want for a specific college or to earn the Bright Futures Scholarship!

According to both former and current students, my strength when teaching/tutoring is being able to explain the concept in a way that makes sense. I've heard so many times "well it is easy when you teach it like that!" I'm able to take concepts and demonstrate to students a way to do the problem that makes it easy to understand. I do not over complicate things. I tutor all ages of students. I tutor one on one in person or virtually. I've also done small group settings where a group of classmates/friends meet with me to prepare for the ACT/SAT.

I always make sure I know what the student's goal is and communicate with both the student and parents as to how we can make that happen and in what time frame we can get it done. Good communication is key as well as making sure everyone is on the same page. In order for a student to reach his/her maximum potential it requires work on everyone's part. I enjoy helping students reach their goal and hope to help you as well!

ACT Math

ACT Math

I have tutored students in the ACT Math section for over 5 years. During that time, I've gone though countless full length tests with students going over each and every question. I have taught the content in the ACT Math as an Algebra 1/Geometry/Algebra 2 teacher. I'm well versed in the content and requirements of the ACT Math.
Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I was an Algebra 1 and Algebra 1 Honors teachers for 6 years. I taught all levels of students in Algebra 1 at both private and public schools. While I no longer teach Algebra 1, I continue to tutor the students at my school who struggle with the concepts. Algebra 1 is such an important foundational class. Having taught the courses after Algebra 1 (geometry and algebra 2) I know exactly what concepts need to be understood to ensure success in the courses beyond Algebra 1.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I taught both Algebra 2 and Algebra 2 Honors for four years at my current school. I know the content well. I also taught Pre-Calculus so I know what students must understand in Algebra 2 to be successful in Pre-Calculus. Algebra 2 is a very challenging course for high school students. I'm able to break down the concepts so students can better understand the material.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I taught Pre-Algebra and Pre-Algebra Honors for several years. Pre-Algebra is such an important foundational class. If you do not master the concepts in pre-algebra, all algebra classes moving forward will be difficult. The concepts learned in Pre-Algebra can set you up for success in Algebra and other classes moving forward. I have tutored many students in Pre-Algebra and even began to teach the Algebra so they can see how the concepts tie in with multiple courses.
