Hi! My name is Laura, and I am a dedicated middle school mathematics teacher with a strong passion for helping students truly understand math—not just memorize it. I currently teach 7th grade math in a classroom setting and have several years of experience working with students of diverse learning levels, including those who need extra support and those ready for enrichment. I hold a bachelor’s degree in education and am currently pursuing my master’s in Educational Leadership, which allows me to continuously grow and bring the most effective strategies into my teaching.
In my classroom, I focus on building confidence, critical thinking, and independence. I use a combination of direct instruction, guided practice, and real-world applications to make math meaningful and engaging. I also incorporate data-driven strategies and personalized support to meet each student where they are. My experience includes working with students in small groups, one-on-one intervention settings, and whole-class instruction, helping them improve their performance on assessments such as FAST and i-Ready.
As a tutor, I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my approach to fit their needs and learning style. Whether your child needs help catching up, staying on track, or getting ahead, I am committed to helping them succeed and feel confident in their abilities.
