Patient and Adaptable Science, Art, and History Tutor

I have a bachelors of science from the University of Florida in Environmental Science. Since college I have actively worked as a researcher. While I haven’t spent many years one on one tutoring students, I have spent a lot of time mentoring high schoolers and undergraduates that have completed internships at our lab-not just in lab techniques but in applied math and science. I also went to an art high school and was passionate about history/social studies so I have a diverse background.

I really enjoy working with students of any age. I was in the gifted program in elementary school and while I felt I belonged there-I severely fell behind in math. It took me years to realize that I wasn’t incapable but that the content wasn’t being taught to me in a way that I understood. The issue isn’t you! It’s just not being translated to you in the way that’s best for you! It was such a blessing to one day realize I could actually excel in things previously thought impossible and so it means a lot to me to be able to help out others that are struggling.

My favorite aspect of my profession-research- is the extension aspect. Getting to translate these convoluted concepts into something digestible for all audiences. Teaching and learning how to be a better teacher are some of the things I am passionate about and how I want to spend as much of my time as possible!
