Hi, My name is Lori and I am a licensed & certified Speech Language Pathologist in Florida. I have owned a private practice for Speech Therapy for the last 19 years and have a total of 23 years experience working with ages (birth to 21) in a variety of subjects. I have tutored many of my previous students (elementary, middle, & high school) for the past 23 years and really enjoyed helping them in a variety of subjects. I have many years of experience working with children with Autism and a variety of other special needs. I have worked with many families who homeschool their children. I believe in making the tutoring experience as interactive as possible, as learning should be fun! I individualize each lesson plan I have for my students, because everyone has a unique learning style.
I received my Master's Degree in 2003 from the University of Central Florida and hold my ASHA national certification. This has helped improve my understanding of the need to identify the root cause of many comprehension and expressive language difficulties. I also have a good understanding of auditory processing disorders, which many times cause difficulties in reading, writing, and other subjects. I have also published several educational apps in the Apple App Store. I created them to help motivate students during tutoring and speech/language therapy. The apps are in a variety of subjects including reading comprehension, inferencing, synonyms & antonyms and more. These apps can be provided free of charge to the student being tutored.
I am passionate about the fact that communication is the key to life and success. I truly enjoy working with special needs, ASD, children, teens, and adults to prepare them for the working world. I believe everyone deserves the chance to live up to their true potential, of being able to do anything they dream of. The best feelings I've had in my career are when my students go off to college, after years of hard work.
Please do not hesitate to contact me and learn more about my background.
