I have a Bachelor's in Education from University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Arts with a major in Hispanic Studies (Literature) from Inter American University of Puerto Rico and a minor in Linguistics. I have been teaching since 1983. As a teacher I received the honor to be Teacher of the Year from the Private School Convention of Puerto Rico in 1995.

I have been teaching Spanish as Second Language for American students and given courses like Hispanic, Hispano-American and Caribbean Literature as well as Language Arts in the general program in college. I also worked with the Advance Placement Program teaching AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish Literature. I received in Puerto Rico the Lifetime Certificate as a teacher in 1995. I acquired the Professional Educator’s Certificate for Foreign Language from the State of Florida.
